The Peter Bryan Onco-Health Initiative (PBOHI) was born from a deeply personal journey.
After witnessing the devastating impact of late-stage cancer diagnosis in underserved communities including the loss of a close family member our founder, Peter Bryan, made a commitment: to ensure no one else would suffer in silence or due to lack of awareness.
What began as a small community outreach effort has now grown into a continent-wide initiative, powered by technology, driven by youth, and guided by compassion.
PBOHI was created to educate, support, and advocate, bridging critical gaps in cancer care and prevention across Africa.
From one story, a movement was born and it’s only just beginning.
Educate communities on the Prevention and early detection

A future where cancer prevention and care are accessible to all
Cancer is now the leading cause of death globally, surpassing HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. The threat is especially severe in sub-Saharan Africa, where non-communicable diseases like cancer are rising rapidly but often go unnoticed and underfunded.
According to Maia Olsen (2015), up to 80% of the global cancer burden is expected to fall on low- and middle-income countries by 2030, many of which are in Africa. Yet, only 5% of global cancer resources are allocated to these regions (Knaul, Frenk, & Shulman, 2011). This resource gap leads to:
If left unaddressed, cancer will continue to have a devastating impact not only on health systems, but on the social and economic fabric of African communities.
Our key values is to ensure EMPATHY, INTEGRITY AND EMPOWERMENT
Placing patients’ needs and experiences at the center of all efforts.
Upholding transparency, honesty, and accountability.
Providing communities with education and resources to take control of their health.
“You are wonderfully made and God has a great plan for you.”
